Fomo app Social Trading and Transaction Costs
Fomo app combines a social trading feed with buying and selling crypto across supported blockchains. It brings token discovery, portfolio tracking and transaction history into the same account on mobile and web. Funding and trading depend on the available payment method, token and network. Before confirming a transaction, review its displayed fee and expected output. Execution costs can change with the trade size, available liquidity and route, so a quoted platform fee does not necessarily describe the entire cost.
Key takeaway: A trade’s cost includes its platform fee and execution conditions, so the amount received matters alongside the amount committed.
A funded purchase within a spending limit
A purchase normally starts with an available balance and a supported token; check that the deposit asset and network are supported before sending funds. Suppose you want to buy a token while keeping the total debit within a limit you have chosen. First establish whether the available funding method and token route support that purchase. If either is absent, leave the funds where they are until a compatible option is available. Changing the network name on a sending screen does not establish compatibility.
- Match a crypto deposit’s asset and network to the receiving instructions shown for your account.
- If a payment method is unavailable, consider another funding option only when the app offers it.
- Compare the total proposed debit, including fees, with your spending limit, and review the expected token amount separately. If you cannot establish that all charges fit within the limit, do not confirm.
- Recheck the quote after changing the purchase amount; fees and price impact need not change proportionally.
- After confirmation, match the completed purchase record to the token quantity credited before treating the purchase as finished.
A smaller purchase can reduce price impact, but a minimum charge can consume a larger share of that purchase. If the revised quote still exceeds your limit, stop before confirmation. If a submitted purchase remains unresolved, reconcile that transaction before placing another order.
Platform charges and the cost of execution
Fomo charges for buy and sell transactions, with the applicable fee shown before confirmation. The amount depends on transaction size, transaction type, token and routing. A purchase and its later sale are separate transactions. Assessing the entry alone leaves out the cost of exiting the position.
The quoted fee
Fomo’s platform fee is separate from costs imposed by the protocols that execute a transaction. Some additional costs depend on conditions at settlement, and the app may not display every component. Treat estimates as estimates.
Percentage charges
A percentage charge scales with the amount to which it applies. Compare the fee amount with the transaction amount using the same currency or unit. This makes the effective charge easier to understand than a percentage detached from its calculation basis.
Minimum charges
Some Fomo trades carry a flat or minimum fee rather than a percentage charge. Where a minimum applies, reducing the purchase amount may leave the fee unchanged. Splitting one intended purchase into several smaller transactions can therefore add repeated minimum charges, even when each trade creates less price impact.
Liquidity and the amount received
Slippage describes the difference between the expected execution price and the actual execution price. Market movement during submission can change that result. Price impact describes how the order itself moves the available trading price, particularly when liquidity is shallow. Fomo includes liquidity, volume and holder information in its token analytics. These fields help explain why a larger order may receive a worse price per token. Neither a chart price nor a small platform fee establishes the amount that a sale will return.
Cross-chain trading and different position types
Cross-chain trading lets the account access supported assets without requiring a separate manual bridging task for each trade. A unified balance simplifies the interface, while individual transactions retain network and liquidity dependencies. Support for a blockchain also differs from support for every token or deposit on that blockchain. The account’s available funding options and the selected asset determine the usable path.
Spot holdings, perpetual positions and stock tokens
A spot purchase acquires the selected token. Perpetual futures create derivative exposure, with additional controls for direction, leverage and margin. Fomo introduced perpetual trading through Hyperliquid and Trade[XYZ], including isolated margin and take-profit and stop-loss orders. Funding payments and liquidation risk affect these positions. Perpetuals are unavailable to U.S. persons, to anyone accessing them from the United States and in other restricted circumstances. A profitable price move does not remove the need to maintain the required margin.
Where available, Robinhood stock and exchange-traded-product tokens represent derivative contracts rather than ownership of the referenced securities. They do not confer shareholder voting rights or redemption into the underlying shares. Access excludes U.S. persons, anyone accessing these products from the United States and people resident or located in Canada, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, alongside other restrictions. Eligibility for ordinary crypto trading does not establish eligibility for these products.
Trade records and access to sale proceeds
Transaction history records purchases and sales, while portfolio values also move with market prices. Reconcile a trade using its asset, quantity and recorded outcome rather than the portfolio’s total value alone. Selling and withdrawing are separate operations. Fomo also supports crypto withdrawals. Before confirming one, check that the receiving address supports the withdrawal asset and network; a wrong-network transfer can lose funds. A bank withdrawal, where available, adds bank processing and possible verification checks after the sale. An unresolved transaction needs reconciliation before another submission; a completed sale does not itself confirm that money has reached the receiving bank.
Social discovery and the timing of another trader’s entry
Fomo’s feed, trader profiles and alerts help surface tokens and trading activity. Trade theses add the trader’s explanation for a position, while leaderboards compare performance over selected periods. An alert arrives after the activity that triggered it, so another purchase can face different prices and liquidity. A thesis provides context for a decision; it does not establish future returns.
Wallet access and account privacy
The trading wallet uses non-custodial infrastructure, and account access supports email authentication and Apple ID. Fomo provides private-key viewing and wallet export. An exported key gives access beyond the app, so storing or sharing it creates a separate security responsibility. Protect the sign-in account as well as any exported credentials. Losing access to either can affect control of the wallet.
Social participation also creates a privacy choice. Profile information, linked social accounts and wallet or payment details can enter the service’s data processing, depending on the features used. Device and usage information may be collected automatically. App locking helps prevent someone with access to your device from opening Fomo, without changing the visibility of information you post. Available biometric options include fingerprint authentication and Face ID.
Still wondering about Fomo app?
Does Fomo require a separate account for desktop trading?
Fomo web uses the same account as the mobile app. Signing in with the same email or Apple ID gives access to the existing profile, balance and positions. Following relationships and notification settings also carry across, so switching screens does not require moving funds into a separate desktop account.
Can Apple Pay fund a Fomo account without a separate exchange account?
Fomo’s mobile Apple Pay funding integration supports adding funds without creating a separate exchange account. Availability depends on the payment provider’s supported circumstances. Payment approval and the amount credited remain separate from the later token purchase, so an approved funding payment does not mean that a trade has executed.
How long can a bank withdrawal from Fomo take?
Bank withdrawal timing depends on bank processing, weekends, holidays and any required verification. Fomo’s February 2026 withdrawal guidance gives a three-business-day timeframe, while also identifying factors that can add time. Treat that timeframe as bank-withdrawal guidance rather than a deadline for every transfer or an estimate for blockchain settlement.
Is following a trader the same as enabling automatic copy trading?
Following a trader provides social updates and trade notifications. It does not, by itself, establish permission to execute matching trades from your balance. A feed entry describes another account’s activity; a transaction confirmation concerns an action that commits your own funds.
Do I need to keep records beyond the portfolio profit figure?
A portfolio profit figure does not replace individual transaction records. Retain the underlying trade history when reconciling activity or preparing reports. Fomo includes an integration with Awaken for tax reporting, which provides a separate way to work with trading records without treating the portfolio display as a complete filing record.
Are Fomo referral discounts permanent?
Referral benefits depend on the program terms and can change or end. A code or promotional claim should not be treated as a permanent fee schedule. The fee displayed for the transaction determines the platform charge that applies when you confirm it.
Where can I add an explanation to a Fomo trade?
The trade thesis feature lets users attach commentary explaining their reasoning for entering or exiting a position. Other users can read that commentary in the token feed and view the associated trade. A thesis is social content tied to trading activity, so avoid including private account or recovery information.
